CONCEPT:

University of Tampa Grand Reading Room is a educational facility to help students expand their reading technology into their studying. Based off of the university of tampa's history of the building the concept is a trainstation.

University of Tampa was originally the Tampa Bay Hotel built in 1888-1891 by Henry B. Plant. Henry B. Plant brought the railroad to tampa in 1884, the rail road was at the center of tampa's economy. The tampa bay hotel opened in 1891. Now it is the University of Tampa and Henry B. Plant Museum. Bringing in those pieces of a train station in its exterior courtyard information center and interior technology grand reading room center will bring back history of Henry B. Plant where the University originated from. The exterior will have a information center for students , and a exterior cafe' bar. The interior will have a interior cafe' with cafe seating, customer service desk, ipad/laptop station desks for students to complete their studies, and a womens/men's restroom.
